Highly rated in Australia, where he was already playing senior football for former club ECU Joondalup, Cameron Burgess was another exciting acquisition for the Academy in 2011.
A player that can operate in the centre of defence and on the left, the youngster is both assured in the tackle and in possession.
He started his football education in Scotland, where he played in the youth teams of both Glasgow Celtic and Aberdeen, before moving with his family to Australia. Both his father and grandfather played professional football, so Cameron followed suit when he signed as a pro on 1st July 2013 after he impressed in the Scotland Under-20 squad at the ADO Den Haag Youth tournament in Holland. He has since, however, switched his allegiance to Australia.
Helped Fulham's Under-18s to the Final of the FA Youth Cup in the 2013/14 season and also made 21 league appearances, forming a formidable partnership with Liam Donnelly.
The following season he was handed his First Team debut on the opening day and he impressed in an unfamiliar defensive midfield role.
In January 2015 he signed a new deal that tied him to the Club until June 2017, with an option for a further year.
Twelve months later he joined Cheltenham Town on loan for the remainder of the 2015/16 season. He then joined Oldham Athletic for the first half of the following campaign, making 31 appearances before joining Bury for the second half of the season.
