To reach an FA Cup Final is an undoubted achievement for any club and to do so as a Division 2 side, as Fulham did in 1975, is an even more impressive feat, especially when you consider the marathon number of games they played to get there. No side has ever needed to play that many games to reach the FA Cup Final.

Only Everton and Carlisle were beaten over 90 minutes. The semi-final encounter with Birmingham City needed a replay, the Third Round tie versus Hull City required two replays and the Fourth Round epic against Nottingham Forest spanned four matches and three replays.

England legend Allan Mullery led his Fulham teammates onto the pitch at Wembley to face his old club West Ham and, despite the best efforts of Mullery and regulars like Les Barrett, Viv Busby, Peter Mellor and John Lacy, the Hammers emerged victorious.
